What is folk dancing?International Folk Dance, or World Dance, brings together traditional ethnic dances, as well as choreographed dances, from various regions and nationalities such as Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia, Croatia, Hungary, Turkey, Israel, Albania, Greece, Macedonia, Russia, Ukraine, Japan, China, Mongolia, and many more!
We have dances catering to all skill levels, with a wide variety of music of varying tempos and time signatures. Most dances are in an open circle with linked hands, where the person on the right is leading the dance and knows the steps to that particular dance. Follow the leader's motions, and you will have no trouble dancing along in no time! |

Do I need a partner? No, you may come alone or bring a friend! Folk dancing is a communal activity by nature and is generally done in an open or closed circle, with a variety of handholds or without handholds. While partner dances are done on occasion, there is no need to have a partner beforehand, nor are there defined gender roles in any of our dances.
